Redefining Network Identity

Identity Engines' products break new ground in network identity management. Traditionally, identity management has been thought of as purely in the realm of applications. However, with increased mobility of users and the erosion of boundaries around what defines an organization—deperimeterization, we see an increased focus on user identity as the foundation for security on networks. Analysts and leading enterprises are now redefining identity management into two areas: application identity management and network identity management.

Network identity management involves all aspects of managing of users accessing a network, ranging from admission control, to temporary user provisioning, to policy decisions and directory integration. It is a natural evolution from the AAA (authentication, authorization and accounting) type of products such as RADIUS servers, many of which architectures fundamentally unchanged from the era of dial-up ISPs 10 years ago.

Identity Engines’ Ignition™ product line represents a significant step in redefining the AAA space and was designed from the ground up to deal with today’s network identity challenges.
